Founded in 2004, Coastal Chiropractic Health is dedicated to providing the highest quality care. Each patient is given individual attention. Exams are thorough and treatments include a broad variety of techniques and modalities geared towards each patient’s specific needs.

Chiropractic was founded over 100 years ago. Over the last century, the profession has seen great advances in research, understanding and acceptance in the mainstream. Today’s chiropractors have an exceptional understanding of the human body and its ability to heal without the use of medication or surgery.

At its core, the chiropractic philosophy is to remove nervous system interference by restoring and maintaining healthy spinal structure and function. A healthy nervous system is free to communicate with the organs and muscles of the body.

As time has passed, chiropractic has broadened to include such things as muscle work, exercise therapy/core stabilization and nutrition.

We take a thorough patient history and use the most up to date examination techniques. We use the same orthopedic and neurological tests that are used by your family doctors and specialists. We order X-Rays and MRIs when warranted.

Our diagnoses are based on medical evidence and our treatment plans are geared towards each patient’s specific needs, with the goal of getting you feeling better as quickly as possible.

Our therapeutic options are many, including massage, heat/cold, infrared, ultrasound, electrotherapy, stretching, exercise, dietary counseling/nutritional supplementation and of course traditional spinal manipulation.

Patient visits are scheduled in 20 minute blocks to ensure that each patient gets the appropriate amount of attention and the opportunity to have all of their questions answered. Most major insurances are accepted!

Dr. Dawn Mello, D.C.

Dr. Dawn Mello

Born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, Dr. Dawn was a standout, three sport athlete at Hinsdale Central High School. She went on to earn her bachelors degree in biology from University of Iowa while playing for the Hawkeyes volleyball team. She continued on to The National University of Health Sciences where she earned a bachelors degree in Human Biology and a Doctor of Chiropractic degree. She was certified by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners in 2003 and was licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in 2004. She has been lead clinician at Coastal Chiropractic Health since its inception in 2004.

Dr. John Mello

Dr. John grew up in Mattapoisett and attended Old Rochester Regional High School in 1996. He continued his studies at Merrimack College where he earned a bachelors degree in Sports Medicine with a concentration in Exercise Physiology. He went on to The National University of Health Sciences where he earned a bachelors degree in Human Biology and a Doctor of Chiropractic degree. He was certified by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners in 2003 and was licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in 2004.

In addition to helping patients make healthier food choices we make specific supplement recommendations that will help maximize each patient’s health.
